Renae spent time in Paris at La Catoucherie with world-renown theatre company, Theatre Du Soleil, during the filming of their current production of’ Les Naufragés du Fol Espoir’. Renae assisted with the filming by creating special effects such as snow and smoke, as well as immersing herself in the company’s unique ethos and communal way of devising and presenting theatre.
Renae was fortunate to meet the company again in the United Kingdom and assisted in the staging of the epic four-hour production at the Lowland Hall for the Edinburgh International Festival / London 2012 Festival. As this was the first time the theatrical event had been performed for an English speaking audience Renae worked closely with Ariane Mnouchkine and translators to edit the surtitles.
