Restore is a time-accelerated journey into past, present and future. In a place where being busy feels like success and nothingness instils fear, a solitary figure finds themself hurtling towards the realisation of an already-imagined future. Compelled by Snæfellsjökull, an active volcano capped with a glacier, they begin to question their fast-paced ‘go go go’ lifestyle. Dance, theatre and design are overlaid to create multifaceted images of bird migrations, glaciers and the digital realm as the figure shape-shifts their way through a myriad of worlds with skillful precision.
This big-hearted solo by and with Renae Shadler reconsiders the arrhythmia of western lifestyle with warmth and humour, building our capacity for intimacy, ecological sensitivity and inclusiveness.
"evocative, sensuous, beautifully detailed dance where the primary vehicle of humanity, the mess of our flesh, is the core driver of our response to the cultures and machines we have created in our image.” Dance Informa, 2018
“An elegantly executed performance with stunning visuals and music […] a fascinating and enchanting performer that you can’t take your eyes off.” Aussie Theatre, 2016
Winner Market Ready Award and Nominee Best Performance at Melbourne Fringe 2016.
